This route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the west. It offers a chance to visit Shira Plateau and Shira Caldera. Lemosho Route crosses from Shira Ridge to Shira 2 Camp, in a pleasant hike. Climbers encounter low traffic until the route joins the Machame route. Afterward, Lemosho follows the same route as Machame Route through Lava Tower, Barranco, and Barafu, known as the southern circuit. The minimum days required for this route is 7 days, but eight days is recommended as it will give more chances to acclimatize and achieve the summit. Like Machame, this is a scenically spectacular and varied route. Lemosho is highly recommended and it has an abundance of wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, elands, and lions which come over to forage during the dry season from Longido game-controlled areas.

Mowgli Safari Tours provided us with the best safari we could have hoped for! We had a lot of unexpected delays and lost baggage, meaning we had to delay the start of our safari and Mowgli Safari Tours was so accommodating. They arranged for us to have a tour of Arusha when we couldn't start the safari on the planned day, and they re-organized our whole itinerary to ensure that we got to see everything we wanted in less days. Our guide was amazing. He knew exactly where to go and had so much knowledge to share about all of the different wildlife we saw - we were lucky enough to see the big 5! Our chef made such delicious meals the entire safari, we were so happy every time we sat down for a meal. My husband and I would both recommend Mowgli Safari Tours to anyone wanting a perfect safari experience in Tanzania!Charlotte

The facility was amazing. Great views and very attentive staff. Wonderful birthday celebration for our daughter - really thought of every detail. The site manager, Jonathan, made everything happen effortlessly. Morning coffee through the dumbwaiter made early morning wake-up call for safari drives pleasant. Hot water bottles in the bed after a delicious dinner and after-dinner drinks made for a cozy sleep. Incredibly private but a little far from the entrance to the park itself. Snacks in the car and lunches in the park were well thought out and plentiful. Sundowner bush bar is great fun!Ann

We just came back from our trip to Tanzania part of which was also a safari tour organized by Mowgli Safari Tours. We had a great opportunity to visit beautiful national parks Tarangire and Serengeti as well as the conservation area of Ngorongoro where we enjoyed an abundance of animal life and unforgettable colors of true Africa. All this would not be possible without an excellent guide and reliable driver. We would like to thank him for his valuable and professional support during our entire tour. Our guide was always ready to answer each of our questions and was even having a book with him showing all animal species we could encounter in the parks. let me mention that our transfers from Kilimanjaro airport to the town of Arusha and back were arranged by the driver who was reliable and did his job according to our best expectations.Sasa & Liliana

Having never been on a safari I wasn’t sure what to expect. This trip exceeded all my hopes. Communication before the trip was excellent. We were picked up on time but our outstanding driver/guide. Accommodations were comfortable with good food. The first day we were surrounded by nearly 50 elephants and I told our driver that he would not be able to top that in the remaining 4 days. Every day of the trip contained a wide variety of animals and each day had an amazing highlight. Our driver was full of interesting information about the animals we were seeing which added to the experience. The only minor issue I had was the vehicle. We were in a Safari Vehicle and it seemed the Toyota Landcruiser's were a bit more sturdy and therefore less bouncy.Tim

Because we were in Arusha beforehand, the organizer, Hilary, arranged for us to be picked up there. When we arrived in Arusha, we were already expected by him. He explained everything about the safari to us, gave us a lot of helpful tips, and also explained to us what else we could do in Arusha. The next morning we were picked up punctually by our guide, who was born in one of the national parks, really knew everything about the animals, the landscape, etc. We felt we were in very good hands. Our first stop was in Tarangire National Park - the landscape was breathtaking and of course the wildlife too. In the evening the food exceeded all our expectations. The next day we drove to the Serengeti. The atmosphere was just lovely! In the evening we all ate together again and exchanged ideas. The last stop was in the Ngorongoro Crater, where we saw hippos, lions up close, hyenas, and many other animals. We would book with Mowgli Safari Tours again at any time and are still in contact with the guide. Very clear recommendation.Matthias
